How does Acetocaustin solution for treating warts work?
Acetocaustin contains monochloroacetic acid, a substance with a keratolytic effect on the skin. Cells containing the wart virus that come into contact with monochloroacetic acid are completely destroyed and the warts dissolve . Because it acts in the deep layer of the skin, it is often not immediately apparent to the patient when the effect has begun. Acetocaustin only works on common warts on the hands and feet . It is not used on other parts of the body or on senile warts.
How long does treatment with Acetocaustin solution take to treat warts?
Treatment varies from person to person and depends on the type of wart, its size and age . Small, recently discovered warts may disappear after just 1-2 applications. Deeply embedded plantar warts require longer treatment. If you do not notice any change after about 4 weeks, consult your doctor.
